Teasing/Good Place

Posted by Brandy Miller on April 9, 2012 at 4:13pm 0 Comments

I am a shy gal. It comes back to the kids being mean to me when i was little, and its made me become comfortable being by myself. I've hated and still do, do group activites. I don't think its a crime if i dont talk. I have social anxiety and many people dont understand that. In class today, someone had pointed out, out loud infront of everyone that i dont talk. Sure shes coming from a good place but instead of teasing me, ask me why i am shy. Dont embarass me infront of the class. I'm…

"Bully" Rating

Posted by Brandy Miller on March 21, 2012 at 2:14pm 0 Comments

there has been alot of controversey surrounding the upcoming release of the documentary Bully. The company releasing the documentary is rating it R and millions of people including myself are aganist it. The purpose of this movie is for kids to be able to see it in schools and at home, but if it's rated R, kids under seveteen won't be allowed to see it. I would never discourage not sending out the whole message of what bullying is because i was bullied as well, but if i would of had the…

Bully Rating

There has been talk about a documentary being released called Bully. The rating is R and many people including my self are not pleased with it. I can understand why its rated r. The documentary wants to show everything that goes with being bullied. I understand that and I appreciate them doing that, but since this documentary is rated r, schools all over the world wont be able to show this film and schools is the one place this documentary needs to be shown. That's my concern for not wanting…

From Chapter 11 of Please Stop Laughing at Me...

"I’ve been blessed. Despite getting knocked down so many times, God keeps putting people in my corner at just the right time who give me the courage and strength to come out for one more round. Often, the opponent isn’t another fighter, but my own self-doubt. Though sometimes it feels like I’m alone in the ring, I know now that’s an…

While other kids were daydreaming about dances, first kisses, and college, Jodee Blanco was just trying to figure out how to get from homeroom to study hall without being taunted or spit upon as she walked through the halls.

This powerful, unforgettable memoir chronicles how one child was shunned-and sometimes physically-abused by her classmates from elementary school through high school.
